Industrial potato starch making process
The potato starch making process and main potato starch processing machine:
Fresh potato (conveyor machine)- cleaning (dry sieve)- washing(rotary washing machine)- grinding (rasper)- starch and slag separation (centrifugal sieve, fine fiber sieve)- desanding (desander)- protein separation (hydrocyclone station)- dehydration (vacuum filter)- drying (flash dryer)-packing(semi-automatic packing machine)
* Cleaning: The weighted potato is cleaned by dry sieve to remove the foreign matters attached on raw potato. There is no water needed in this potato starch making process.
* Washing: Water is added in paddle washing machine for further removing the sand, dirt, soil and other impurities attached on potato in potato starch making process. Backwashing method is adopted for better washing effect.
* Crushing and filtration section: The washed potato is subjected to high-strength rasper, of which the starch extraction rate is up to 95%. Multiple filtration means is adopted in potato starch making process to remove fiber impurities, and the free starch filtration rate is 98%.

* Sand removal unit
Then in potato starch making process, the starch slurry is sent to a stirred starch tank, and then the starch is removed by a two-stage sand remover, and the collected sand is discharged by a butterfly valve.
* Protein separation unit: Hydrocyclone station is used in this process for potato starch making process. The starch is further concentrated and refined to remove non-starch components such as protein to improve the quality of the starch.
* Dehydrating: After the above process, the starch slurry still contains a lot of water, so it must be dehydrated to facilitate drying in potato starch making process. Peeler centrifuge is extensively used for dehydrating. The moisture content of wet starch after dehydration is required to be lower than 40%.
* Starch drying unit
potato starch making process requires to dry wet starch to the moisture content of 14%. The dried product is collected by a high efficiency single cyclone and discharged by a low speed screw conveyor. The finished product is conveyed by air flow or screw conveyor for cooling. The cooled dry starch will be collected by a two-stage cyclone and sent to the sifter using a screw conveyor, sieved and packaged.
